AFON TRYWERYN

The river Tryweryn is a wild brown trout river. Grayling are present on the lower reaches.
Migrating salmon are present as are minnows, loaches and bullheads.

Rules for the Tryweryn: no spinning at any time. Fly and worm only - Maggots and ground baiting not permitted – NRW bye-law

The river is subject to a rapid rise in level due to water releases from Llyn Celyn. Please be aware of this.

NRW gauges are and PDF file giving river level instructions are posted below.
As a guide low levels are about 0.5 to 0.6M. 0.8M-1.0M is nice water. Above the1.5M river is getting high.

The river is used extensively for canoeing and rafting and will be busy at weekends.
