BALA & DISTRICT AA WATERS
AVAILABLE TO
RHYL & ST ASAPH AA MEMBERS
Our members may fish all of the water under the control of Bala & District Angling Association, including the lovely Llanderfel beat on the Welsh Dee and other Dee beats at Bala. We have 5 rods per day all year, which gives full access to both river and stillwater. This includes Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake) and two small stocked lakes. So opportunities for game angling (the Dee holds an excellent head of wild brown trout and has good runs of salmon and sea trout) and coarse angling (multiple species in Llyn Tegid which once held the British record for perch).
Our 5 Bala tickets are available day for our members to reserve using our
online booking system commencing March 1st 2026 - Feb 28th 2027.
Simply reserve your date using our online booking system and please remember to
always carry your RASAAA Membership Card as you may be checked.
Please keep a note of all catches for our end-of season return and do let
us know of any successes.
Below you'll find links to all the various waters available.

FISHING THE WELSH DEE
and it's bala tributaries
The Welsh Dee is renowned as one of the best grayling fisheries in Europe and hosts
the annual Hanak Grayling Festival in Late November/early December.

River Dee at Llanderfel

River Dee at Bala
While these Dee rods give our members access to grayling fishing when our local rivers are in close season, don't forget that the Dee also offers excellent opportunities for game angling. A healthy invertebrate population means the Dee holds an excellent head of wild brown trout as well as good runs of salmon and sea trout.
If you're not sure where to try first, you'll find expert knowledge of general Dee fishing tactics at Foxons Tackle, situated right on the banks of the Dee in Llangollen and very local knowledge from Barry Evans at Siop y Gwyniad in Bala High Street. 01678 521654 Facebook Link
