Gypsy Lane - River Elwy

Grid Ref. SJ 032 754

A mostly single bank beat downstream of the A 55 Bridge.

The Association owns part of this beat and leases the rest.  About 1900 m. mostly single left bank.
The Roe Parc section of this beat is for a maximum of 6 rods at any time. Right bank from the A55 bridge down to the new Spring Gardens bridge. Left bank from the A-55 bridge down to the top of Gypsy Lane beat. VCAC also have 3 rods on the Roe Parc beat.

  1. At Gypsy Lane.  Access southbound on A525 from Rhuddlan after public weighbridge.

  2. CJIW Farm.  From the top of St. Asaph off the small roundabout follow Mount Road through the houses and over the A55 for approximately one mile.  Towards the end of the lane the parking area is on the left and we share it with CIJW personnel so please park with due care and consideration.
The lock combination is available from the membership secretary.  Please make sure you do not obstruct the entrance.

  3. Spring Gardens Caravan Park at the top of the beat.  Parking is just inside the entrance to the park, the area designated for our parking is adjacent to the bins.  It is vital that we park sensibly and with consideration for the other people who use both these amenities, particularly when returning from night fishing.  You must display your Association Car Sticker. (The parking area may change slightly following construction of the new bridge which is part of the St Asaph Flood Defence Scheme).

Abuse it and we lose it.  This parking has been agreed due to our good relations and some delicate negotiations with the owners of these sites.  Any member who brings the Association into disrepute will not have his membership renewed.

Booking not required.    Day & 5-day Visitor Permits available from Foxons or online here.
