Bala Outflow

This is the stretch of the River Dee that exits the lake and ends at the confluence with the Afon Tryweryn.

Fishing is from both banks.

Species present are mostly coarse fish; perch, roach, pike and grayling. Salmon and sea trout migrate through here. Minnows, bullheads and loaches are here in fewer numbers as are brown trout.

In summer perch and roach are dominant with pike present.

During autumn and winter trotting with a worm for grayling can be productive. There are good grayling here during this time.

Any legal method is allowed including fly, spinners/lures, worm, maggot, groundbaiting, sweetcorn etc. There is parking on the roadside near Bala Sailing club - avoiding the double yellow lines.
