Bala Outflow.jpg

Bala Outflow

  • This is the stretch of the River Dee that exits the lake and ends at the confluence with the Afon Tryweryn.

  • Fishing is from both banks.

  • Species present are mostly coarse fish; perch, roach, pike and grayling. Salmon and sea trout migrate through here. Minnows, bullheads and loaches are here in fewer numbers as are brown trout.

  • In summer perch and roach are dominant with pike present.

  • During autumn and winter trotting with a worm for grayling can be productive. There are good grayling here  during this time.

  • Any legal method is allowed including fly, spinners/lures, worm, maggot, groundbaiting, sweetcorn etc. There is parking on the roadside near Bala Sailing club - avoiding the double yellow lines.
