Our lowest beat on the River Elwy, not far upstream from the famous Junction Pool
A good beat double bank in places - with a variety of pools and runs. Can produce excellent fishing for all three game species.
PLEASE NOTE: Right hand bank at Spring Gardens Caravan Park closed until further notice. Also members parking space in the park must not be used at this time.
St Asaph Town Water - Wild Brown Trout, Sea Trout and Salmon Fishing On The River Elwy
Quite a long beat starting about half a mile upstream of the towns road bridge.
An often overlooked beat, including the town water, Roe Parc and Spring Gardens. With the right water conditions can be very productive.
Bryn Polyn - Wild Brown Trout, Sea Trout and Salmon Fishing On The River Elwy
A short but productive beat on the river Elwy that should fish well at all times.
A steep walk down through the woods and back but well worthwhile for the peace and quiet of this beat. A large pool at the lower end should hold good fish.
Pont y Ddol - Wild Brown Trout, Sea Trout and Salmon Fishing On The River Elwy
A very popular beat, owned by the association. Some nice pools and runs.
You'd be surprised how quickly sea trout and salmon reach this part of the river Elwy given the right water conditions. A bit of a walk to reach some pools but well worth the effort!
Lower Pont Dafydd - try for Salmon and Sea Trout fresh from the tide
Mostly double bank downstream of the A-55 flyover on the Chester side of St Asaph
Some deep pools on this beat, which is now our lowest beat on the River Clwyd. Good chance of sea-liced sea trout here. Tricky in parts for fly fishing but well worth a look.
Pont Dafydd - Wild Brown Trout, Sea Trout and Salmon Fishing On The River Clwyd
A double bank beat upstream of the old A-55 bridge near St Asaph
Some nice runs and pools on this beat, which is our second lowest beat on the Clwyd. It doesn't take long for fish to reach here following a high tide. Has produced double figure sea trout in recent seasons.
Bodfari - Wild Brown Trout, Sea Trout and Salmon Fishing On The River Clwyd
A long single bank beat downstream of Pontruffydd road bridge.
Very popular with the members. Some excellent water an easy walk from the road, with easy relatively casting and a fishing shelter! The more adventurous will find some excellent runs and pools lower down the beat.
River Dee - Fishing on the Llangollen-Maelor Angling Association beats for wild Brown Trout, Sea Trout, Salmon and Grayling
A recripocal arrangement - we have 2 rods to fish on the Dee - Booking through Foxons
Approximately 10 miles of bank fishing on the Welsh Dee - regarded as one of the top grayling fisheries in Europe, and as a bonus also has wild brown trout, sea trout and Atlantic salmon.
See the Llangollen-Maelor AA website for beat details and their club rules. Please note they have some beats strictly reserved for LMAA members.
Llyn Crud y Gwynt
A two acre spring-fed reservoir stocked with rainbow trout by Rhyl and St Asaph Angling Association
Our only Stillwater, the Association leases this lake. It is stocked with hard-fighting Rainbow Trout and also has a resident stock of Brown Trout (Some quite large). It enjoys an idyllic and peaceful setting and is open to members 364 days a year (Not Christmas Day). NEW: LAKE ONLY MEMBERSHIP ALSO AVAILABLE
Llyn Brenig and Llyn Alwen
Two very different fisheries on the moors near Denbigh
Llyn Brenig is a Fly Fishing Venue which regularly hosts international fly fishing competitions. The rainbow trout here have a reputation as hard fighters - probably because they are raised here and are fully acclimatised to the cold waters of Brenig! It is a fly-only venue.
Llyn Alwen nearby is also stocked with rainbow trout and also has wild brown trout and a stock of coarse fish (perch etc). You may fish here with fly, spinner or worm.
Rhyl and St Asaph AA have two tickets for members to fish either lake, on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday. Please book in first at Foxons St Asaph and then present your membership card in the shop at Brenig prior to fishing.
RASAAA You Tube Film
A 15 minute film showing some of the great water available to our members
Filmed during the 2016 fishing season the film is introduced by our Chairman Bob. It highlights some of the excellent beats accessible by Rhyl & St Asaph Angling Association's members on the rivers Clwyd and Elwy, as well as our spring-fed trout lake near Denbigh.
